Bugger-roo. Have been going insane without Internet connection last week. Conviniently during the long Eid (Eid Mubarak btw) weekend. But my flu also turned full-blown in the same weekend. So did nothing but stayed in bed. It just hit me that the Internet just about sums up my social life here.
So my first Eid in Nigeria (and third year in a row away from home), was most uneventful.
Work only started on Wednesday, so it was a pretty short, but hectic, week. No Queen Bee for the rest of the working week. Talk about sheer bliss!
Much to my happiness yesterday, I have finally found the biscuit that I have been searching for for the past almost 2 decades. Well it was not the exact biscuit, but it was the closest I have found in years. I don't know if you remember it (most people I speak to don't know what I am talking about). This biscuit comes in a big, blue tin. The logo is of a Dutch woman with rosy red cheeks. The last time I saw one was in the mid-80's, only for it to disappear without trace. Apart from the Jacob's Cream Crackers and assorted cookies, - of the Danish sort - this is what you'd normally expect to receive from friends and family in the, unfortunate, event that you get admitted to hospital. Without sounding insensitive, I used to look forward to this whenever any relatives get hospitalised. That's the inner-workings of an 8-year old's mind for you.
